Poetry Feedback
It often takes a keen listener and a conscientious editor to illuminate patterns and poetic quirks that we might otherwise miss when we are alone in the writing process. Feedback helps poets to see their strengths, while uncovering opportunities for improvement, all while learning how their writing lands with another reader. Sensitive feedback is attuned to the particular stage you are in your development, your goals for your work, and the specific questions you have about what you are making. When feedback is offered from a place of kindness and deep listening, growth occurs, poems are finished, and bigger things become possible. You will receive thoughtful feedback on up to 10 pages of poetry with handwritten notes as well as a 1 hour Zoom call. For more information on how to submit, e-mail: hello@heathermackayyoung.com

“I've been privileged to share my work regularly with Heather for more than a year now. She listens to my poems with her generous heart and an ear that hears the tune no matter how faint it may be in that particular draft. Her editorial suggestions are insightful and incisive, uplifting and encouraging, and always offered in the spirit of true, honest communion with the work.” Fritz Eifrig, Writer & 2020 Graduate of Slim Volumes
